Rival Schools

Published by i still have my youth under Shows, Tours

That’s right.  I said it.  But if you’re thinking of the video game - you are sadly mistaken.  The RIVAL SCHOOLS are back and their fans are hungry.  The first and last time I saw RS was during my early high school years when Birch Hill (in Old Bridge,NJ) was still open and not a home for the elders (boohoo-very sad time in my teenage life).  Since then, Walter Schreifels (singer) started a band called Walking Concert.  Me and my mom are hardcore Walter fans so we tracked down WC and saw them at the Sin E in NYC (very awesome place to be because of me being a huge Jeff Buckley fan - he used to play there weekly while he was still alive…) as well as Maxwells.  Not that we don’t love WC, we just really miss Rival Schools.  And I hope you do too.

Here’s where they’re going to be so far:

Oct 9 - The Echo Echo Park, California
Oct 10 - Brick By Brick San Diego, California
Oct 11 - Lisk Fest @ Oak Canyon Ranch Irvine, California
Oct 12 - Bottom Of The Hill San Fransisco, California
Nov 4 - Maxwell’s, Hoboken, NJ
Nov 6 - Mercury Lounge, NYC

And of course I shall be at the Maxwells show because Maxwells is my most favorite place :)
…and maybe the Mercury Lounge… if I can afford it… hmph.

Public Service Announcement!

Published by The Dagger under Breaking News, Free Stuff

What’s better than free booze?  Hmm…hmm…um NOTHING.

Luckily there’s a little site called My Open Bar to seek out all the free drinks in your area. Now you can just sit back and kill your liver without difficulty. Sign up for their mailing list and they’ll actually deliver a weekly listing of open bars to your inbox. (SHIT! Are they going to drink the beer for me too?!)

You can thank me later.

Cheers!

Overheard In The Office: “What The Fuck Happened To Paper?”

Seriously though, with our overuse of technology, “paper” seems like thing of the past. I’m starting a new craze - save server space, write a letter! Ok maybe that’s an extreme, The Dagger is still down with saving the earth (’n stuff) so I suggest you check out RecycleThis.com for an epic list of alternative uses for cd jewel cases.

“Paint them and make a giant Scrabble board”!! BRILLANT!!
